After nearly 40 years in the building business, I have seen a lot of changes. Most have been good. With customers becoming longtime friends, it’s important to provide the best service and product. This meant keeping up with the times, when I was indeed holding on to old traditional building practices including log, timber frame, and of course, stick building. In the early 2000’s I was introduced to SIPs. A new technology to me that’s been around since the ‘50’s. I was completely amazed with this technology and to find out how little it was utilized. Why had a product so simple, fast, and efficient not found its way into mainstream building? 7 words! “We have always done it this way” Change has always been slow in the building industry, but SIPs are a game changer. With the code changes, faltering workforce, and energy cost, it’s time to up the game. I still have a lot of lifelong friends to make and to do the best job I can, I will be using SIPs!
